Okay, I’ll admit this is my first year to watch American Idol, and I’m only watching because of you, Mr. Allen.
And now, he’ll be heading home to give America a look at Conway.
I don’t know why, but I can barely contain myself. I’m not even a fan of Idol, but I’m just beside myself over here.
I guess because I’m happy for Kris, Conway and Arkansas.
If you need me, I’ll be down in the River Market tomorrow at 11:30 a.m.
If no other reason than to be on television. Did I just say that out loud?
I think I did.
All of the events on Friday are as follows:
11:30 a.m. performance in the Riverfest Amphitheatre.
3 p.m. Allen performs at UCA’s Donald W. Reynolds hall
5 p.m. Parade in downtown Conway
5:30 p.m. Performance at Simon Park in Conway
A local team of movie-makers has put a short film on www.funnyordie.com. They need you to vote on their video. Right now, with 907 views, 92 percent of people have rated it as funny. You can watch the video here. Or below.
Locals Michael Witham and Clint Shackelford star in the Starsky and Hutch parody, “Bravado & Jones.” You may recognize a few other locals in the movie, as well as the inside of North Little Rock bar, Sidetracks. Plus, the video editing adds an extra element of hilarity. Check it out and give them a good rating, if you like it.
